Project Design Proposal Online Bookshop Application
Question: Discuss about the Project Design Proposal for Online Bookshop Application. Answer: Introduction The design and development of an online bookshop application help the business to eliminate the time and location limitation to reach the customers. The online application of the bookstore will allow the customer to browse and order the book through online from any location and anytime. The system will help in renovating the business and enhance the customer satisfaction. The significant objectives of the project are: To develop and design an online application of bookshop; To provide online payment system through the application; To enhance the usability and customer experience in the application; To provide all the books in one simple application and provide better service to the customer; To provide the customer, online experience of shopping and ordering books; To provide remote shopping and payment facilities to the customers; The proposed outputs of the online bookshop application are: The developed online store will able to increase the customer from 30% to 80%; The developed application will renovate the business; The online application will help in increasing the customer satisfaction; The developed application will provide a huge turnover for the business; The customer will be able to browse through the different books and apply coupons during online transaction; There are two major targeted users in the online bookshop application. The bookstore: The buyer of the application of the owner of the bookshop is a targeted user. The bookstore owner will able to include new nook items, features, and price in the application. Moreover, the bookshop owner will be delete or modify any books or information in the online application. The customer: The customers of the bookshop are the second most significant target for the online bookshop application. The customer will be able to log in to the application, browse through the content and purchase the books online while making the online transaction through the website for payment. The various success criteria for the development of the online bookshop application are: Functionality: The vital criteria of the online bookstore application is the functionality of the overall system. The developed online application will provide ease of navigation that will allow the customer to browse from one book to another without hindrance (Min et al., 2014). In addition to that, the developed application will have little load time that will increase the performance of the application. Moreover, the optimization of the search engine within the application will allow the customer to search and get to a particular book in the application. Customer Experience: The customer experience is one of the major critical success factors for the online bookshop application. Implementing an easy yet satisfactory interface helps to improve the customer satisfaction (Kinnunen, 2013). Moreover, providing discounted price over the books along with the coupons helps in increasing the customer satisfaction. In addition to that, promotions and easy of navigation help in enhancing the overall customer experience. Payment Processing: The developed online application will allow the customer in making an online transaction for the selected books through the application. Providing a secure and safe payment gateway for the application will allow the customer in buying more book and increasing the sales (Larman, 2012). The less processing time for the payment adds to the success of the developed application. Catalog and Books: In terms of providing a great experience of the customer the developed online application will be able to provide all the books and related information including the price to the customer (Nov et al., 2013). The transparency of the services in the online application will help in gaining the trust of the customer for the bookstore. The easy usability and editability of the cart and products from the bookshop cart forms another critical factor for the application. Stickiness: Stickiness is defined as any factor that encourages the customer to stay longer in the application (Karim, Shukur, 2016). Providing updated information and various range of products in the online bookstore helps in increasing the stickiness of the design and application. The significant aim of the design to provide an efficient user interface that will allow the customers to log in to the bookshop application and buy books online. The developed design of the online application will be OS independent and can be accessible through smartphones. The design will allow the customer to register and log in to the application (Page, 2014). The design catalog will show the customer with the available books in the store. Moreover, through the easy interface and navigation, the customer will able to select the books and proceed to payment. Moreover, the design will provide the customer with an attractive and easy to use interface that will enhance the customer experience and satisfaction. The application will allow all the customers to view books but will provide only the registered customer to buy books through the application. For performing the test for usability of the developed application, all the requirements, and functionality of the application will be well documented. The application of the A/B test will allow the project manager to compare between two design and chose the better for the bookshop application (Johnson, 2013). The use of A/B test approach involves presenting two design to the customer and obtain feedback for the interface design. In addition to that, after the completion of the design conducting the survey for semantic differential survey will allow gaining detailed knowledge about the limitations in the existing design of usability (Qi et al., 2014). Apart from that, the application of the snap test will allow the project manager to identify and gain better knowledge about the developed application in the first impression of the customer. Having a better impression of the application in the initial use helps in detecting the usability of the developed online application. Conclusion The online bookshop application aims at providing an efficient and effective user interface for achieving the aims and objective of the design. The identification of the objective target and success criteria for the application helps in developing the robust application. Moreover, the identification of the usability evaluation methods helped the project manager in ensuring the effectiveness of the design of the application. References Johnson, J. (2013).
